The Herstory Project Continues

Surprise! The Herstory Project is back with another digital gallery and another physical exhibition during the summer.

Since the successful launch of the project in February with a three-month solo show at the Impact Guild, press from different media outlets, a lively virtual event, and engagement from across the globe, continuing this project just made sense.

In this second chapter, a new cohort of women will take the stage to share their stories. These are individuals who are changing the landscape of our city and making a tangible impact in our community every single day.

The question they are answering is, “If you could sit down and talk with your great grandmother, what would you want her to know about you and your life today compared to hers?” and also, “If you could talk with your great-granddaughter or someone in the next generations what would you want them to say about you? What do you want your legacy to be?”

Often, women are so consumed with changing the world that we forget to document the change we’ve made. The Herstory Project serves as a digital record for people of all ages to learn about those who are forging a better way forward.

This is a project that gives voice to the women in our communities who are making history or rather Herstory. In recent times more women are being empowered to grasp the pen of life and take back control of a narrative that often overlooks us.

This project marries my two passions, photography and radio. These portraits can talk. Next to each woman’s portrait is a recording of them discussing the topic of legacy.
